A new project I am working on for Marathon County Bomb Squad.  I thought I would give some insight on how I use Zbrush to create the relief parts of our coins here at Medalcraft.  The border and text are all created using Illustrator, then all elements exported and composed in Photoshop to create a replica image for a proof.  Once the customer approves the design, the model and vector file are used for production on the piece.

The silver coin (nickle-silver) is what is being proposed to the customer, the Brass one is a personal one I did out of curiosity of how a different material would look with the layout.

 

 

I thought I would start out this blogging area with a recent piece of art and move on from there.

This was done for the University Wisconsin Green Bay police. It is one of 3 badges I did for the local area. The other two badges are the Green Bay Police Department and the Brown County Sheriff’s Department; (with additional coins made for them as well).  I will post pictures of them as soon as I get the time to.
